Requirements
* CPA preferred

Job Functions
* Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department
* Supervise a team of 3-5 accountants/accounting assistants and work closely with them to analyze and resolve any accounting issues
* Prepare and analyze financial statements for companies and wells monthly and as needed
* Work closely with external accounting firm(s)
* Coordinate and work with staff to provide other supporting documents needed by external accounting firm(s)
* Download, analyze, and evaluate accounting data to prepare reports and supporting schedules to be used for SEC reporting by outside firm
* Pull and prepare data for federal and state tax returns, and other tax returns as needed for outside tax preparer (including state withholding and franchise tax returns)
* Work closely with our President and Vice President to provide critical financial information for informed operational decisions
* Help maintain and develop the Company's accounting policies
* Process stock transfers
* Coordinate financial assurance for operating licenses/bonds, and registered agents
* Assist with cash management and maintenance of the accounting systems
* Other duties as assigned
This position reports to the President and Vice President and is on site in Dallas, TX.

Field Supervisor/Engineering Technician

Spindletop Oil & Gas Company, a fast-growing, independent, publicly traded oil and gas company located in Dallas, is seeking a detail-oriented, hardworking Field Supervisor/Engineering Technician with the proven ability to positively impact their company's bottom line.
Responsibilities
* Have good working knowledge of installation, repairs, and maintenance of oilfield surface equipment and facilities including plungers, separators, pumps, compressors, etc.
* Oversee day-to-day operations issues including, but not limited to, monitoring and repairing well failures, analyzing operating expenses, and communicating with vendors.
* Project management and implementation of procedures to third party wellsite vendors.
* Manage and optimize well performance in relation to production volumes, maintenance, and cost efficiency while positively impacting the company's bottom line.
Qualifications
* Experience in completion, workover, and production operations.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
* Good working knowledge of downhole tools and equipment.
* Good working knowledge of installation, repairs, and maintenance of oilfield surface equipment and facilities.
* Self-motivated, resourceful multi-tasker with excellent communication skills.
* Team player attitude and good cooperation skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
* This position requires working in the Dallas office regularly, as well as extensive field travel. The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and have no restrictions on the ability to travel (overnight stays are frequently required).
* Our office is located in Dallas, TX. Relocation to the Dallas/Fort Worth area will be required for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:
• Provide land support including running title to ascertain mineral and leasehold ownership both internally and in the courthouse and reviewing in-house files to generate ownership reports, both for exploration and development projects, as well as for acquisitions and divestitures of producing properties.
• Travel to areas of prospective interest to conduct title searches, locate land/mineral owners, conduct due diligence and curative work, and then have the ability to prepare the necessary reports.
• Analyze and make recommendations relative to the negotiation and drafting of agreements (e.g., oil & gas leases, memorandums, assignments of working interest, participation agreements, farmouts, joint operating agreements, affidavits of heirship, mineral and royalty deeds, etc.).
• Effectively negotiate with landowners, lease brokers, and other industry parties, and getting deals signed and closed on favorable terms to the company.
• Interpret and prepare various agreements necessary to support active exploration and development programs (e.g., oil & gas leases, memorandums, assignments of working interest, participation agreements, farmouts, joint operating agreements, affidavits of heirship, surface, mineral, and royalty deeds, etc.).
• Possess an extensive knowledge of all facets of exploration and production land work, including lease acquisition, title curative, as well as incorporating various regulatory and unitization matters into operations planning.
• Possess a broad-based knowledge of division orders and transfer orders.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for leasing.
• Work with internal teams of engineering, geology, and land people to bring new wells into production or further develop existing producing properties.

• Experience with acquisitions and divestitures a plus
• Strong understanding of oil and gas lease terms
